The truth is that whilst weddings have got bigger and more complicated to organise in the last 20 years, brides and grooms have got busier and have less time to spend on making wedding arrangements. Many couples get married some distance away from where they live and these days the mother of the bride often has a busy job too - so she has less time to help out.
